Vision Of The Course
Working towards an excellent Islamic jurisprudential education aimed at enhancing students’ academic performance and enabling them to study in depth and conduct research in the field of Jurisprudential and religious studies.
Mission Of The Course
- To develop the student’s learning skills in the subjects of Islamic legal sciences and Jurisprudence.
- To provide the students with an in-depth knowledge of the different jurisprudential views and schools and their approaches to the various jurisprudential problems.
- To create the jurisprudential faculty required for solving contemporary problems and deducing verdict rulings addressing the current jurisprudential questions from the Islamic legal texts.
- To develop the student’s interpersonal and professional skills required for communicating with the society in order to propagate and introduce the values of the Islamic law in the daily social life.
Objective Of The Course
- To enrich the student’s knowledge of Islamic legal sciences.
- To prepare the student as a future researcher in the various branches of Islamic law.
- To fulfill the student’s missionary, interactive and social skills.

- To train a generation of specialized researchers in the various fields of the Islamic Jurisprudence.
- To disseminate awareness of the Islamic Jurisprudence worldwide.
- To enrich the Islamic Jurisprudence by following and regulating the modern contemporary realities and developments in accordance with the Islamic legal terms.

Requirement of credits to obtain qualification:
1. Structure B : 24 Credit Hours + Thesis
2. Structure C : 45 Credit Hours (Inclusive of Case Study/ Project Paper)
Entry Requirement:
- ‘
- A relevant Bachelor degree (Honours) with good grades from MEDIU, or any other institutions of higher learning recognised by the university;
OR - Any other certificate that is recognised as equivalent to a Bachelor degree (Honours) or other relevant professional qualification and experience that are recognised by the University.
- A relevant General Bachelor degree (without honours) with at least one year working experience, and
- If deemed necessary, an applicant may be interviewed and/or required to sit for an entrance test in order to determine his eligibility for admission to a specific programme.
- The department of faculty may, with the approval of the University Academic Council (UAC), require the applicant to satisfy additional conditions for admission to a specific programme.
Language Requirement:
• Arabic Language
Applicants interested to enrol in programmes where the medium of instruction is in Arabic must pass the MEDIU’s Arabic ProficiencyTest (APT).
