Vision Of The Course
Having a high quality and standard Shari education that transcends the scientific capacities of the students and enable them to conduct deep studies and researches in the field of Usul Al Fiqh.
Mission Of The Course
- Preparing students and promoting their learning in the area of Usul al Fiqh, the deep study of al-
Mazahib, the scholars’ opinions and their differences in various issues. - Developing students’ skill in understanding Usul Al Fiqh and having the ability to search and
ponder over methodological problems and issues. - Developing the behavioral and practical student skill that is necessary for communicating with
the society to convey the values of Shariah that are concerned with emergent salient issues.
Objective Of The Course
- Enriching the students with the Usuli sciences and knowledge.
- Preparing students to become researchers in various fields of Usul sciences.
- Developing the social interactive Da’wah skills into students.
Learning Outcome Of The Course
- Graduating a generation of specialist researchers in different fields in Usul al Fiqh.
- Facilitating the means of learning Usul Al Fiqh.
- Implanting the Islamic belief system in the hearts of the Muslims.
- Enriching research in Usul Al Fiqh by making use of the modern technical revolution in the field of
computer.

Requirement of credits to obtain qualification:
1. Structure B : 24 Credit Hours + Thesis
2. Structure C : 45 Credit Hours (Inclusive of Case Study/ Project Paper)
Entry Requirement:
- A relevant Bachelor degree (Honours) with good grades from MEDIU, or any other institutions of higher learning recognised by the university; or
- Any other certificate that is recognised as equivalent to a Bachelor degree (Honours) or other relevant professional qualification and experience that are recognised by the University.
- A relevant General Bachelor degree (without honours) with at least one year working experience, and
- If deemed necessary, an applicant may be interviewed and/or required to sit for an entrance test in order to determine his eligibility for admission to a specific programme.
- The department of faculty may, with the approval of the University Academic Council (UAC), require the applicant to satisfy additional conditions for admission to a specific programme.
Language Requirement:
• Arabic Language
Applicants interested to enrol in programmes where the medium of instruction is in Arabic must pass the MEDIU’s Arabic ProficiencyTest (APT).
