Vision Of The Course
Towards a high level Islamic academia that results in a comprehensive knowledge of the sciences of al-Hadith which guides students to strive towards adorning the noble character of the Prophet (pbuh).
Mission Of The Course
- To prepare students for research in the sciences of al-Hadith, its sources and methods, from the perspective of its transmittal and textual understanding.
- To develop the faculties of conscience and commitment of students through knowledge of the science of prophethood along with its values and etiquettes. This assists in the emulation of the example of the Prophet (pbuh).
- To endow students with practical and behavioral skills in communicating with society in order to propagate Islamic ethical values and its manifestation in society.
Objective Of The Course
- To prepare students to become specialists in the fields of al-Hadith and its sciences both textually and in regards to its transmittal.
- Enriching the Muslim library with original research in the science of al-Hadith.
- To foster and develop the ability of graduates to interact and propagate Islam through their commitment to the methods of Prophetic traditions.
Learning Outcome Of The Course
- To qualify students with the ability to conduct academic research that contributes to the development of the sciences of al-Hadith and bringing it closer to students in the field of Islamic studies.
- To propagate Islamic sciences on the whole and the sciences of al-Hadith in particular, this entails the communication of truth and righteousness to the entire globe.
- To qualify students to become specialist researchers in the sciences of al-Hadith.

Requirement of credits to obtain qualification:
1. Structure B : 24 Credit Hours + Thesis
2. Structure C : 45 Credit Hours (Inclusive of Case Study/ Project Paper)
Entry Requirement:
- A relevant Bachelor degree (Honours) with good grades from MEDIU, or any other institutions of higher learning recognised by the university;
OR - Any other certificate that is recognised as equivalent to a Bachelor degree (Honours) or other relevant professional qualification and experience that are recognised by the University.
- A relevant General Bachelor degree (without honours) with at least one year working experience, and
- If deemed necessary, an applicant may be interviewed and/or required to sit for an entrance test in order to determine his eligibility for admission to a specific programme.
- The department of faculty may, with the approval of the University Academic Council (UAC), require the applicant to satisfy additional conditions for admission to a specific programme.
Language Requirement:
• Arabic Language
Applicants interested to enrol in programmes where the medium of instruction is in Arabic must pass the MEDIU’s Arabic ProficiencyTest (APT).
