Vision of the Course:
Towards educating Shari’ah academicians, preparing the student to embody the morals and manners of the people of the Qur’an, and provide him/her with a complete foundation comprising of the knowledge and sciences of Shari’ah.
Mission of the Course:
- Creating students to teach the Quranic sciences in general, and the science of recitations specifically, to attain the values of the Muslim personality, to elevate a high level of self-awareness, and to remain steadfast in the rulings of the pure Shari’ah.
- Development of the abilities of the reciters to recite the Quranic text while following the rules of recitation and the regulations of the rules of Tajweed.
- Preparing the students with practical and behavioral skills necessary to communicate with society for the purpose of spreading the Qur’an and the Shari’ah rulings.
Objective of the Course:
- Preparing the students to be from those that carry the Book of Allah, acting upon it and specializing in the sciences of recitations.
- Developing the Quranic knowledge and sciences amongst the graduates and preparing them by preparing scientific research.
- Realize the Da’wa, interactive, and social abilities of the graduates.
Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Preparing the student to prepare scientific research which will contribute to the development of the sciences of recitations and bringing it closer to the students of the knowledge of Shari’ah.
- Spreading the knowledge of the Book of Allah, the Exalted, through recitation, memorization, understanding, and acting upon it, all over the world.
- Preparing the students to be researchers specialized in the sciences of the Noble Qur’an and its recitations.
Entry Requirement:
- A relevant Master degree (Honors) with good grades from MEDIU, or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the university;
OR - Any other certificate that is recognized as equivalent to a Bachelor degree (Honors) or other relevant professional qualification and experience that are recognized by the University.
- A relevant General Bachelor degree (without honors) with at least one year working experience, and
- If deemed necessary, an applicant may be interviewed and/or required to sit for an entrance test in order to determine his eligibility for admission to a specific program.
- The department of faculty may, with the approval of the University Academic Council (UAC), require the applicant to satisfy additional conditions for admission to a specific program.
Language Requirement:
- Arabic Language
Applicants interested to enroll in programs where the medium of instruction is in Arabic must pass the MEDIU’s Arabic Proficiency Test (APT).

- Studies in the book of al-Qira`at
- Verification of the manuscript book of al-Qira`at
- Orientalist and al- Qira`at.
- Orientalist Studies around al- Qira`at.
- Irregularity Al- Qira`at in the interpretation books and its impact on enriching the meaning
- Al-Mutawatir al- Qira`at in the interpretation books
- Al- Qira`at in the al-Sunnah books
- Studies around Explanation of Manzumah Harz al-Amani wa wajh al-Tahani in seven Qira`ats by al-Shatibi
- Studies around Explanation of Taib al-Nashr fi al-Qira`at al-`Ashr by ibn al-Jauzi.
** Students are encouraged to propose their own topic in the research area.
