Objective Of The Course

  • To equip the students with the latest and comprehensive ICT skills and knowledge for developing and administering the latest systems and technology.
  • To enable the students to graduate as competent and entrepreneurial ICT knowledge workers who are marketable to the Industry, locally and internationally.
  • To strengthen the students’ system development and administrative skills and knowledge through professional certification, final year project and industrial attachment.
  • To enable the students learn how to inculcate Islamic values into their ICT professionalism for the purpose of nation building, wealth creation and unity of the ummah.

Learning Outcome Of The Course

By having a Bachelor of Information Technology in System Development and Administration, a student should be able to:

  • Apply the latest and relevant ICT skills and knowledge to develop and administer the latest systems and technologies.
  • Perform the job and responsibilities of an ICT knowledge worker competently and in an entrepreneurial manner in relevant industries, locally and internationally.
  • Understand system development and administrative skills and knowledge through professional certification, final year project and industrial attachment.
  • Work professionally, with positive attitude and with pleasant character according to Islamic values, as a qualified system developer and administrator for the purpose of nation building, wealth creation and unity of the ummah.

Entry Requirement:

The general academic requirements for admission into MEDIU’s undergraduate Courses are as follows:

Local Students
Applicant must have:
  • Two principal passes in the STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia / Malaysia High School Certificats) examination;
    OR
  • A Pass in STAM (Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia / Malaysia High School Religious Certificate) examination;
International Students
Applicant must have:

  • General Secondary Education Certificate (GSC) (taken upon the completion of 12 years primary and secondary schools education);
    OR
  • Two principal passes in the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’ (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Educational System).
Local + International Students

  • A pass in MEDIU’s Foundation programme with a minimum CGPA of 2.00;
    OR
  • A pass in any Diploma from universities or colleges recognised by the Government of Malaysia and/or the senate of the University;
    OR
  • Adult : Open Entry.
    Age : ≥21 years on 1st January during the year of application and
    Academic requirement : PMR (Penilaian Menengah Rendah) and
    Working Experience: ≥ 5 years of working experience in the related field of studies
    OR
  • Any other certificate or qualification that recognised by the University’s Academic Board as equivalent to one of the above.
Other Requirement:
  • The student should not have any pending disciplinary charges.
  • The University, if deemed necessary, may ask applicants to submit the University Entrance Examination as a condition for admission.

Language Requirement:

English Language

Where the medium of instruction of a course is English and if applicant’s first language is other than English, applicants are required to obtain a score of either:
o 550 TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or
o 6.0 band IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)

Applicants, who do not have either of the above qualifications, are required to pass MEDIU’s English Placement Test (MEPT) with a minimum 6.0 points.
