Medium of instruction: Arabic

Course Objectives

Prepare students to become in-depth seekers of knowledge in comprehending and teaching Arabic language.
Develop the student’s language skills as well as literary texts to enable them in understanding sources of Islamic and Arabic Language
Development of graduates communicative and cultural language skills and abilities.
Equip the learners with the ability to recognize the beauty of the language and to have a taste for creative literary production

Learning Outcomes

Prepare the students to gradually be able to possess an effused in-depth teaching the Arabic language.
Understand the sources of Islam and Arabic language sciences to be able to contribute in disseminating correct knowledge to their respective communities.
Strengthen the spirits cooperation and interaction among Muslims in the field knowledge and science.
Producing specialists in the field of Arabic language, who are capable of sustaining a correct use of the language, besides having the taste of the beauty of its literature and a better understanding of its meanings.

Entry Requirement:

A pass in Shahadah Thanawiyyah Ammah examination (compulsory: taken upon the completion of 12 years primary and secondary schools education);
OR
Two(2) principal passes in the STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia / Malaysia High School Certificate);
OR
Two(2) principal passes in the STAM (Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia / Malaysia High School Religious certificate) examination;
OR
Two(2) principal passes in the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Education System);
OR
A pass in MEDIU’s Foundation programme with a minimum CGPA of 2.00;
OR
A pass in any Diploma recognized by the Government of Malaysia and/or the Senate of the University;
OR
Passed SPM/SPMV or at least five (5) passes in the General Certificate of Education ‘Ordinary Level’ (GCE) ‘O’ Level Examination (UK Education System) or its equivalent AND at least 3 years working experience;
OR
Any other certificate or qualification that is recognized by the University’s Academic Board as equivalent to one of the above.

Language Requirements

Arabic Language
Applicants applying into courses where the medium of instruction is Arabic and where applicant’s first language is other than Arabic, applicants are required to pass the Al-Madinah Arabic Proficiency Test (MAPT).
