31st March 2008 Monday 11.00 am - MEDIU Hosted A Visit From The Honorable Sheikh Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al Menea At MEDIU Headquarters, SHAH ALAM, MALAYSIA. On Monday 31st March 2008, MEDIU hosted a very honoured visitor from The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al Menea is a member of the Iftaa Counsel of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, member of The Council of Great Scholars, Vice President of the Founding Committee of the Sharia’a Staff of Al Rajihi Bank, and he is one of the prominent Islamic and academic leaders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al Menea arrived at 10am and was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi, MEDIU’s Rector, MEDIU’s Deputy Rectors and fellow staff. This was followed by a short meeting between the guest of honour and MEDIU’s Rector and Deputy Rectors.
At 12:00pm, the guest of honour, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al Menea, gave short speech in the Conference Room. He shared his knowledge and insight with MEDIU’s staff and gave an inspirational talk to the attendees. He reminded MEDIU that the technological means at our disposal today are bounties from Allah, and that Allah deserves to be praised and thanked for them. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al Menea was proud of MEDIU’s accomplishments and their use of leading-edge technology to spread knowledge throughout the world. He also expressed his pride at the exemplary behavior of Malaysia and Malaysians; he stated that Malaysia is a source of pride for the Islamic world. He reminded all that seeking all types of knowledge is important, and it is incumbent upon Muslims to excel in all fields.
At the end of the visit, a token of appreciation was given by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi to Sheikh Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al Menea for his visit to MEDIU Headquarters.
