UNIVERSITY APPROVAL — A Critical Credential

Approval is an important credential to look for when choosing a university. Approval is important for your degree to be recognized by employers and professional associations. Approval is an assurance to students and the public that an institution meets or exceeds standards for quality of faculty, curriculum, learner services, and fiscal stability.

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) obtained approval as a university from the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia on the 26th of December 2006 and subsequently was registered on the 20th of June 2007 (KPT/JPS/DFT/US/B22).

MEDIU operates under Malaysia’s Private Higher Education Act of 1996 (Act 555) which governs its establishment and administration in order to prepare and provide a conducive learning environment for students of higher learning.

The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)-

Each of our academic programmes goes through a rigorous approval process before they are offered to the public. All programmes currently offered at MEDIU are approved by MQA and MOHE.

The main role of the MQA is to implement the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) as a basis for quality assurance of higher education and as the reference point for the criteria and standards for national qualifications. The MQA is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the quality assurance practices and accreditation of national higher education. This entity is responsible for quality assurance of higher education for both the public and the private sectors.
