“Distinguished students prevented by financial difficulties from completing their studies.” “Your generous contributions can make them qualified leaders and scholars who practice Islam in their personal lives and help elevate the status of this ummah among the rest of nations.” The Muslim Ummah has been blessed with a tremendous number of young students with talents and capabilities that give them the potential to make effective contributions to the welfare of humanity. However, the Ummah is losing a vast amount of that potential because of the financial handicaps and material shortfalls that deny those talents the opportunities to acquire the knowledge and skills that would prepare them to help themselves, first of all, as well as to help and improve their Muslim societies and humanity in general. Based on the desire of Al-Madinah International University to provide opportunities for that vast number of deprived students throughout the Muslim world, in particular, as well as the world, in general, to study the Islamic sciences, Al-Madinah International University has initiated a number of charitable endowment projects to help students. They are as follows:
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Program Name | Number of Credit-Hours |
| Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies, specializing in the Qur’an and its sciences | 127 credit-hours |
| Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies, specializing in fiqh (jurisprudence) and usool al-fiqh (principles of Islamic jurisprudence). | |
| Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies, specializing in da`wah and Islamic theology | |
| Bachelor’s in Linguistics, specializing in Arabic and its literature. | |
| Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies, specializing in Hadith and its sciences. | 126 credit-hours |
Third, an additional expense in the first academic year is the cost of a computer required for the student’s participation in the program. The cost of the computer must eventually be repaid by the student to the student loan endowment fund by a system of very easy installments. A portion of the loan will be excused if the student attains a high level of academic achievement. If that high level is maintained, such that the student graduates with academic distinction, the entire value of the loan will be excused and the student will receive the computer as a gift upon graduation. Each semester the University dispenses a stipend to help students with their basic living expenses.
Fourth, there are a number of additional nominal expenses related to enrollment, student services, mailing expenses, etc. whose costs must be calculated as part of the total student financial aid package. The expenses are as follows:
