Bachelor of Islamic Sciences (Hons) in the Science of Al-Quran

Medium of instruction: Arabic

Course Objectives

To produce specialists in the Holy Quran and its sciences.
To connect the Muslim Ummah with the Holy Quran, its recitation, memorisation and understanding.
To meet the increasing needs of the Islamic communities for teachers in these fields.

Learning Outcomes

To spread the learning of the Holy Quran and its sciences among the Ummah.
To produce a generation of academicians who are qualified and specialised in various fields concerning the Holy Quran and its sciences.
To cater for the need of the Ummah for university level graduates who are qualified to teach and share with others the messages contained in the Holy Quran and its sciences.

Entry Requirement:

A pass in Shahadah Thanawiyyah Ammah examination (compulsory: taken upon the completion of 12 years primary and secondary schools education);
OR
Two(2) principal passes in the STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia / Malaysia High School Certificate);
OR
Two(2) principal passes in the STAM (Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia / Malaysia High School Religious certificate) examination;
OR
Two(2) principal passes in the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Education System);
OR
A pass in MEDIU’s Foundation programme with a minimum CGPA of 2.00;
OR
A pass in any Diploma recognized by the Government of Malaysia and/or the Senate of the University;
OR
Passed SPM/SPMV or at least five (5) passes in the General Certificate of Education ‘Ordinary Level’ (GCE) ‘O’ Level Examination (UK Education System) or its equivalent AND at least 3 years working experience;
OR
Any other certificate or qualification that is recognized by the University’s Academic Board as equivalent to one of the above.

Language Requirements

Arabic Language
Applicants applying into courses where the medium of instruction is Arabic and where applicant’s first language is other than Arabic, applicants are required to pass the Al-Madinah Arabic Proficiency Test (MAPT).
