Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) participated in the Maal Hijrah Celebration for the Federal Territories 1446H/2024M at the Multipurpose Hall of the Federal Territory Mosque, Kuala Lumpur, on July 11, 2024. The MEDIU delegation, comprising 10 staff and students, was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Omar Bin Mohammed Din, Deputy Chief Executive (Student Affairs).
The event organized by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) was officiated by YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs). Also present were Colonel Datuk Haji Mohd Ajib Ismail, Director of JAWI and Tuan Syed Kamarulzaman Syed Kabeer, Chairman of MAIWP. The event was attended by more than 1,000 guests and began with a Special Maal Hijrah Performance by the imams and bilals of mosques around the Federal Territory.
Additionally, the event was filled with a Special Maal Hijrah Talk which covered the topic of “Hijrah Fitrah Towards Al-Falah.” The forum included panelists Ustaz Haryanto Rizal bin Rokman and Imam Muda Hassan. The event’s highlight was the announcement and presentation of awards to the recipients of the Main Figure Award and Special Maal Hijrah Award for the Federal Territories 1446H/2024M in the categories of Mosque Management, Preachers, Corporate, and Scholars. These award categories serve as a form of appreciation and encouragement for the dedication and commitment of various parties in promoting the agenda of raising Islamic principles in the Federal Territories.
