For Open and Distance Learning Mode

For entry to Al-Madinah International university (MEDIU), for Programmes Using English as Medium of Instruction, you must meet the minimum English language requirements set by MEDIU or by the MQA Program Standards.

 

Exemptions

You may be exempt from English tests if you:

• Are from a country where English is an official language (e.g., UK, USA, Australia).
• Hold a prior qualification from an institution where English was the medium of instruction.

 

Note: Exemptions require official documentation (e.g., transcripts, university confirmation letter).

 

Conditional Admission for Non-Proficient Students

If you don’t meet the English requirements, the university may issue a Conditional Offer Letter provided you:

1. Enroll in an English Preparatory Course
   • Maximum duration: 2 years.
   • Conducted by the University or its partner language center.
2. Pass an Approved Proficiency Test
   After the course, you must pass one of the following:
   • MUET (Malaysian University English Test), or
   • Another test aligned with the CEFR (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, PTE).

Key Reminders

• Test results must be valid (typically ≤ 2 years old).
• Some programmes may require higher scores, (check the programme requirements).
• Conditional students must pass the proficiency test within 2 years to progress to their main programme.
