Delegation from Al-Madinah International University Visits MAHAR Foundation Office

 

A delegation from Al-Madinah International University, headed by Asst. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ammar Bathich, CEO of the University, visited the headquarters of MAHAR Foundation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday, 28 January 2026. The delegation was accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Popoola Kareem Hamed, Director of the University’s Training and Consultancy Center; Mr. Syazwan Khalis bin Idrus, Dean of Student Affairs; Mr. Jamaluddin Hussain from the Public Relations Department; and Ms. Siti Nurbaini binti Ishak from the University’s Centre for Languages and Preparatory Studies.

The delegation was received by Mr. Jismi Johari, Director of MAHAR Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which provides community and humanitarian initiatives both within and outside Malaysia.

During the visit, both parties reviewed potential areas of cooperation. A preliminary agreement was reached to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Al-Madinah International University and MAHAR Foundation. The two sides also discussed the involvement of the University in MAHAR Foundation’s volunteer program through contributions to community service, human resource support, and the transfer of knowledge and expertise, in addition to the University obtaining membership in the Foundation.

On the academic front, discussions were held on academic and research collaboration, including participation in conferences and scientific seminars, delivering lectures, and conducting joint research addressing issues related to civil society work and non-governmental organizations in Malaysia.

The visit concluded with an emphasis that this meeting reflects significant potential for a promising strategic partnership and opens wide horizons for implementing future joint initiatives that serve the community and contribute to strengthening academic and humanitarian efforts between the two institutions.
