Asst. Prof. TS. Dr. Ammar Bathich, CEO of Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU), received Dr. Ahmad Awad, Chairman of the Yemeni Students Union Malaysia, at his office as part of the university’s ongoing commitment to strengthening collaboration with student organisations and associations, and exploring partnerships that support students and enhance their academic journey.
During the meeting, the delegation was introduced to Al-Madinah International University, its academic programmes, and the educational services it offers. The discussion also highlighted the role of the Yemeni Students Union Malaysia, which has 19 branches throughout Malaysia and represents approximately 4,300 Yemeni students studying at higher education institutions across the country.
Both parties discussed several potential areas of future collaboration, including strengthening academic partnerships, organising educational, scientific, and cultural programmes, exchanging expertise, and implementing initiatives that support Yemeni students studying in Malaysia while contributing to their academic and personal development.
Asst. Prof. TS. Dr. Ammar Bathich emphasised the importance of building strong relationships with student associations and community organisations, noting that such collaborations further strengthen the university’s role in serving international students and expanding cooperation with stakeholders in the higher education sector.
At the conclusion of the visit, both parties expressed their aspiration to establish a productive and sustainable partnership that would lead to joint initiatives benefiting students and strengthening institutional ties between Al-Madinah International University and the Yemeni Students Union Malaysia, in support of academic excellence and educational development.
