On Wednesday, 7 October 2026, Asst. Prof. TS. Dr. Ammar Bathich, Chief Executive Officer of Al-Madinah International University, led a university delegation on a courtesy visit to the Office of the Mufti of Selangor. The delegation was received by Sahibus Samahah Dato’ Dr. Haji Anhar bin Haji Opir, Mufti of Selangor. The university delegation also included Dr. Sami Samir, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences; En. Syazwan Khalis Bin Idrus, Dean of Student Affairs; En. Jamaluddin, Director of Public Relations; and En. Muizuddin.
The visit aimed to foster mutual understanding, strengthen institutional relations and establish closer cooperation with religious and academic institutions in Selangor. During the meeting, the university delegation presented an overview of Al-Madinah International University’s history since its establishment, its academic and educational development, and its mission to disseminate knowledge and support Islamic outreach worldwide. The delegation also introduced the university’s faculties, namely the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Languages, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Education, and Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, together with their programmes offered through on-campus and distance-learning modes. The university’s international reach was also highlighted, with students representing more than 85 nationalities from around the world.
During the exchange of gifts, the delegation explained the significance of Al-Madinah International University’s logo to the Mufti. The yellow and red colours symbolise sunrise and sunset, reflecting the university’s vision since its establishment: to spread the light of knowledge throughout the world. The vision conveys the aspiration that wherever the sun rises or sets, a student of Al-Madinah International University will be found beneath its light. By the grace of Allah SWT, this vision has been realised through the university’s diverse student community, which represents more than 85 nationalities worldwide.
The delegation also introduced several international academic conferences organised annually by the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Languages, Faculty of Education, and Faculty of Computer and Information Technology. These conferences bring together researchers and academics from around the world through both in-person and online participation. The meeting further explored prospects for future cooperation and partnership between the university and the Office of the Mufti of Selangor, particularly in academic and scholarly fields, with the aim of supporting Islamic education, Shariah knowledge and Islamic outreach.
May Allah SWT bless these efforts and make this visit the beginning of further fruitful cooperation in the service of knowledge, Islam and the Muslim community.
