ART THERAPY – “Colour of Emotion: Exploring Self Through Art Therapy”

On 30 May 2025, the intern counsellors of Al-Madinah International University brought staff and students together for a heartfelt Art Therapy session that encouraged creativity, self-reflection, and emotional healing.

In this safe and supportive space, five students and 17 staff participated, guided gently by two trainee counsellors. Together, they explored deep emotions—anger, sadness, fear, happiness, and the feeling of being safe—through painting. Using colours and shapes, participants poured their feelings onto paper, giving form to what was often hard to put into words. It was a moment of release, of understanding, and of connecting with themselves and others on a deeper level.

With a small and intimate group, the session felt personal and meaningful, allowing everyone to share, reflect, and support one another in authentic ways.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful facilitators and every participant who made this session special. May this be the first of many moments where we pause, create, and care for our emotional well-being together.
