Under the patronage of MEDIU CEO Dr. Abdullah Saad A. Alarefi, and in cooperation with the MEDIU Center for Training, Courses and Consultations, the Faculty of Education held on Monday, November 27, 2023, a training course entitled “Constructivism and Developing Educational Environments” via the Zoom platform. This was attended by a large number of scholars and researchers in various educational fields and specializations. It was presented by Dr. Mansour Ghazi Al-Muhammadi, Assistant Lecturer of Education at the Faculty, and the training course was moderated by Dr. Iman Muhammad Mabrouk Qutb, Associate Professor of Curricula and Teaching Methods at the Faculty. Dr. Iman began by welcoming the attendees, and pointed out that holding these training courses reflects the extent of the keenness of the university’s CEO, in research activities, and his tireless effort in directing the university’s cadres towards the globalization of this lofty scientific edifice.
This was followed by a brief presentation of the biography of Dr. Mansour Ghazi Al-Mohammadi. She added that the training course aims to learn about constructivist theory and its role in improving the quality of education, in addition to its role in developing learning environments and building trainees’ capabilities to provide them with constructivist learning skills and strategies.
After that, the training course activities were launched by providing an extensive explanation of constructivism as a modern concept and strategy for teaching, steps for applying the foundations of constructivism, and a comprehensive definition of the learning model according to constructivism, and the advantages of learning according to constructivism, in order to strengthen the trainees’ capabilities in order to achieve the effectiveness of using constructivist learning to obtain the elements of success. Application of constructivist learning. The participants performed a number of training activities related to applications of constructivist theory in education, which increased their interaction and enthusiasm during the training. At the end of the session, the participants made some interventions and questions that enriched the meeting and added more academic value to its topic.
