Under the patronage of Dr. Abdullah Saad A. Alarefi, MEDIU CEO, and in cooperation with the MEDIU Center for Training, Courses and Consultations, the Faculty of Education held on Tuesday, 05/30/2023, a symposium entitled “E-Learning – Models and Applications” via the Webx platform, in the presence of a large number of researchers in various educational fields and disciplines from several Arab, African and European countries. It was presented by Dr. Abdul Muttalib bin Sharaf bin Ali Al-Musawi, Assistant Lecturer of Education Technology at the Faculty, and the symposium was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayman Aied Mohammed Mamdouh, Dean of the Faculty of Education; where Dr. Ayman Aied started by welcoming the attendees, and pointed out that the holding of these scientific seminars reflects the keenness and interest CEO in scientific and research activities, and his tireless efforts in directing the university cadres towards the globalization of this lofty scientific edifice. This was followed by a brief biography of Dr. Abdul Muttalib, adding that the symposium aims to develop the skills of faculty members and researchers in the field of e-learning and its applications, and to emphasize the importance of using it as one of the modern teaching methods and methods.
After that, the activities of the symposium began. Where Dr. Abdul Muttalib started by talking about the philosophy of e-learning, its concept, importance and need for it, and he also gave a detailed explanation of the types of e-learning and its applications at Al-Madinah International University, then he touched on the challenges facing the higher education sector at the present time, then he identified the dimensions of e-learning represented in dimensions: planning and organizing, design, technical, skill, cost, cultural, quality. He also noted the most prominent challenges facing the application of e-learning in educational institutions, and reviewed his academic experience in the field of e-learning, through which he proposed a number of smart solutions provided by e-learning to the many difficulties and obstacles that various educational institutions suffer from at the present time.
At the end of the symposium, the participants made some interventions and questions that enriched the meeting and added more scientific value to its topic. The symposium concluded with a speech from the Director of the MEDIU Center for Training, Courses and Consultations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elsayed Mohamed Salem Salem Elawadi, he expressed his sincere thanks for the efforts of the Faculty of Education in enriching scientific events, and supporting educational activities inside and outside the university, as well as the course presenter.
In conclusion, the seminar director thanked; Assistant Dr. Abdel Muttalib and all the speakers, and attendees for the good comments and questions. He also renewed his thanks to the university administration and the management of the MEDIU Center for Training, Courses and Consultations, wishing the continuation of these scientific activities. Which benefits faculty members and students, encourages university cadres to develop professionally, and benefit from all technological developments and employ them in the educational process.
