Al-Madinah International University and the Government of Yobe State, Nigeria, Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Academic Cooperation

 

Al-Madinah International University in Kuala Lumpur received a delegation from the Government of Yobe State, Nigeria, on Friday, 28 November 2025, to discuss cooperation with the university, particularly in curriculum development, teacher training, and educational consultancy. The delegation was led by H.E. Dr. Abba Idris Adam, Associate Professor and Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, and Chairman of the Establishment Committee. The delegation also included Alhaji Hassan Babayo, Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board in Yobe State; Prof. Sharif Muhammad Ibrahim, CEO of the Yobe Micro Finance Bank and a proud graduate of Al-Madinah International University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khadija Mali from Yobe State University; Mr. Abdullah Dahiru Bula, Coordinator of the AGILE Project in Yobe State; and Alhaji Maina Degma Ghana, Chairman of the Basic Education Committee in the State House of Assembly.

 

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the delegation and Al-Madinah International University, represented by its CEO, Asst. Prof. TS. Dr. Ammar Bathich. In his speech, Dr. Bateesh emphasized that this cooperation represents a strategic step toward expanding the university’s international partnerships, enhancing study opportunities for Nigerian students, and opening new prospects for developing academic programs and training future professionals.

The head of the delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abba Idris Adam, expressed his pleasure in signing the MoU, praising the university’s distinguished academic role and affirming the commitment of the Yobe State Government to building effective partnerships that contribute to advancing education in the state.
