Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently held a short course ‘Takhrij al-Hadith via IT’ on Sunday, 6 September 2020. Honorable CEO, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fadlan Mohd Othman were honored to deliver the lecture to nearly 39 participants on the basics of  of Takhrij al-Hadith and its importance, with the objective to share the science of Takhrij al-Hadith and its importance in Islamic Studies to the participants, including its importance in our daily lives.

This course is intended to be a skill course within the lifelong education programs for individuals who wish to study Takhrij al-Hadith in particular and in Islamic sciences in general. The course is also to help the participants to know the basics of hadith science and to apply the process of Takhrij al-Hadith to identify its source and status.

The program aims at identifying the source of a prophetic hadith, science is closely related to various other sciences such as Tafseer, Hadith and Fiqh, in terms of identifying sound evidence to use as a proof. In addition, the science of Takhrij also helps in recognizing the hadith authenticity level.
