Dialogue Seminar: Teaching the Arabic Language and Its Sciences for the Malaysian Students, Reality and Expectation

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently held a Dialogue Seminar: “Teaching the Arabic Language and Its Sciences for the Malaysian Students, Reality and Expectation” and were organized by the Deanship of Students Affairs and the Arabic Language Club on Wednesday, 15 December 2021. The event was held on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language.

CEO of Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fadlan Mohd Othman gave an opening speech on the importance of learning and mastering Arabic language; its strong attachment to acts of worship, a universal language adopted and recognized by international organizations due to its wide spread among community at the global level.

This was later followed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Omar bin Mohammed Din; Dean of Student Affairs in which he explained the importance of holding such scientific dialogue seminar to address on the phenomena and challenges faced by the faculty members in universities, institution and scientific centers, as he referred to the main theme of the symposium.

The symposium session was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Yazeed Al-Sayed Ali Al-Moayed and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Bakhet and the invited speakers presented their experiences and expertise in the field of teaching Arabic language and its sciences, the obstacles and challenges, theoretical and practical solutions that enabling teachers to perform their teaching tasks and enabling students to learn Arabic language efficiently and effectively.

The symposium speakers were:

  3. Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghani bin Mohammad Din from Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah (UniSHAMS)
  4. Prof. Dr. Ahmad bin Abdul Rahman from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK)
  5. Prof. Dr. Fareed Awae from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
  6. Ustaz Azim bin Ahmad from Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS)
