Under the auspices of His Excellency the Director of Al-Madinah International University, Dr. Abdullah Al-Arifi, and in cooperation with the Medio Center for Training, Courses and Consultations, the College of Education held, on Monday 07/10/2023, a scientific symposium entitled “Developing Teachers’ Classroom Skills in Light of Modern Self-Management” via the Zoom platform, And in the presence of a large number of scholars and researchers in various educational fields and disciplines from several Arab, African and European countries. It was presented by Dr. Faten Fouad Najjar, Assistant Professor of Curricula and Teaching Methods at the College, and the symposium was moderated by Dr. Ayman Ayed Mohamed Mamdouh, Dean of the College of Education; Where Dr. Ayman Ayed started by welcoming the attendees, and pointed out that the holding of these scientific seminars reflects the keenness and interest of His Excellency the Executive Director of the university in scientific and research activities, and his tireless efforts in directing the university cadres towards the globalization of this lofty scientific edifice. This was followed by a brief biography of Dr. Faten Najjar. He added that the symposium aims to develop the skills of faculty members in the field of classroom management, improve the performance of school principals and the administrative staff working in schools, and activate the various partnerships between the school and the community.
After that, the activities of the symposium began. Dr. Faten started by talking about the concept and philosophy of modern self-management, and reviewed the challenges and obstacles that limit the application of self-management in educational institutions. She also gave a detailed explanation of the modern roles of teachers and school leaders in light of modern technological developments, then she dealt with the elements and skills of classroom management. It also reviewed some international models that implemented self-management for educational institutions in the United States of America, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and Australia. At the end of the symposium, the participants made some interventions and questions that enriched the meeting and added more scientific value to its topic.
In conclusion, the seminar director thanked Dr. Faten and all the speakers and commentators in general for their kind comments and questions. He also renewed his thanks to the university administration and the management of the Medio Center for Training, Courses and Consultations, wishing the continuation of these scientific activities. Which benefits faculty members and students, encourages university cadres to develop professionally, and benefit from all technological developments and employ them in the educational process.
