In response to an official invitation, Dr. Abdullah Alarefi participated in the 13^th Convocation ceremony for students of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) in the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, under the auspices and presence of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, on Wednesday 30 August 2023. The occasion witnessed the graduation of a large batch of university students in the presence of a number of Universities’ rectors in the Sultanate of Brunei and abroad, in addition to a number of public figures and the media. During the ceremony, Dr. Abdullah Alarefi, CEO of Al-Madinah International University, met with His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, where he thanked Dr. Abdullah Alarefi for his invitation to visit the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam and participate in the graduation ceremony, wishing more progress and prosperity for the Sultanate of Brunei, and for his part, His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah welcomed Dr. Abdullah Alarefi in the Sultanate of Brunei.

Dr. Abdullah Alarefi also met with His Eminence Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Junaid, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Brunei, the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Brunei, the Rector of Sri Begawan University for Religious Education Dr. Haji Adnan, and a number of Rectors of international universities who attended the ceremony and discuss ways of cooperation with the university and the teaching of the Arabic language. The ceremony concluded with a memorial group photo of the public figures, accompanied by His Excellency the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam.
